Once StarterSTS is up and running, it is time to federate applications with it.
Since StarterSTS publishes federation metadata, you can use a tool like FedUtil (from the WIF SDK) to automate the configuration process. Simple point FedUtil to the URL of the StarterSTS federation metadata document (https://server/sts/FederationMetadata/2007-06/FederationMetadata.xml.
I recorded a couple of videos that walk you through the federation process.
The default security policy of StarterSTS is maybe more restrictive than you like it to be. By default only registered relying parties are allowed, and only when they request tokens over SSL. You can change these settings in starterSTS.config.
